There was a bylaw proposed during our May membership meeting regarding changing the wording to limit the number of days members can be eligible to hold a position in office, as well as to be eligible to vote. The bylaw change proposal was read during our June membership meeting on June 14th, and it was read the second time in our July meeting that was held July 19th.
The current bylaw, Section 2.18 "Members in Good Standing" states: "Members in good standing shall be those members who have not been dropped from the roles for non-payment of dues. Only members in good standing shall be eligible to vote, hold office, or be allowed to participate in events."
The proposed bylaw change be changed to the following: "Members in good standing shall be those members who have not been dropped from the roles for non-payment of dues, and have worked 15 days of the current season. Only members in good standing shall be eligible to vote, hold office.” ,or be allowed to participate in events."
This by law change will be voted on during our August Membership meeting that will be held on August 23rd during the PCA Northeast Region weekend. The meeting will be held approximately 1 hour after the last checkered flag of the day.
The bylaw change may be adopted by two-thirds majority vote of the members present entitled to vote. Please come to the August membership meeting and let your voice be heard!
